If you suspect a Family-Related Abduction
Make sure your custody order specifies with whom your child is to reside at specific times, and that it restricts removal of the child from the State without prior consent from you and the Judge.
Flag the child's passport, or ask passport control not to issue one if requested.
Notify schools, day-care centers, babysitters, give copies to any caretakers and ask to be immediately alerted if the non-custodial parent makes an unscheduled visit.
File a certified copy of your custody order in the non-custodial parent's home State or Country. Consider filing the custodial order in States or Countries where there are relatives of the non-custodial parent.
Keep lists of Information of relatives and friends of the non-custodial parent, i.e., photographs, addresses, telephone numbers, passport numbers, work places and birthdays.
Keep all Information in two separate and secure places.
Violation of Child Custody Rights is a felony!
ANY PERSON HAVING A LIMITED RIGHT OF CUSTODY TO A CHILD WHO WILLFULLY DETAINS, CONCEALS OR REMOVES THE CHILD FROM A PARENT, GUARDIAN OR OR OTHER PERSON HAVING LAWFUL CUSTODY OR A RIGHT OF VISITATION OF THE CHILD; REMOVES THE CHILD FROM THE JURISDICTION OF THE COURT WITHOUT CONSENT OF EITHER THE COURT OR ALL PERSONS WHO HAVE A RIGHT TO CUSTODY OR VISITATION, IS GUILTY OF A CATEGORY D FELONY.
